Where Do You Start?

Are you wondering How to get into Real Estate? How to become a Real Estate Agent in NSW? or How long does it take to become a real estate agent in NSW?

To work in a Real Estate sales, property management or a client-related role, you must meet certain requirements set down by your respective state's licensing authority.

Step 1 – Become an Assistant Agent (Certificate of Registration Holder)

Your real estate career starts by completing the first five units of the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.

After successfully completing these units, you can apply for your Assistant Agent Certificate of Registration with NSW Fair Trading. This allows you to start working in the real estate industry under the supervision of a licensed agent while gaining valuable practical experience.

Step 2 – Upgrade to a Class 2 Real Estate Licence

  • Complete the remaining 13 units of the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice
  • Gain at least 12 months' practical experience as an Assistant Agent
  • Complete the NSW Fair Trading Class 2 work experience logbook and have it signed off by your Licensee-in-Charge
