CLASS 1 REAL ESTATE LICENCE - LICENCEE-IN-CHARGE

If you are looking to run your own agency, you will need to become a Class 1 Licence holder or Licensee-in-Charge. In order to meet the education requirements to apply for your Class 1 Licence in NSW, you are required to undertake the CPP51119 - Diploma of Property (Agency Management).

 

The qualification reflects the role of real estate principals who apply knowledge of property agency and compliance requirements, ethical standards and consumer preferences to establish and control real estate functions. This qualification applies to residential or commercial practice in real estate sales, real estate property management, strata management, business broking, stock and station, or auctioneering.

 

The course is offered online, via RPL or via workshop. One on one training is also offered to those looking to progress through the course with personal training support at an additional cost. If you have worked as a manager or in a managerial position in a real estate office you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for some or all of the units of competency. What are the course entry requirements for CPP51119 Diploma of Property (Agency Management)?

Minimum entry requirements for this course are:

  • Be a holder of the qualification CPP41419 - Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice, and
  • Hold a Class 2 NSW Real Estate Licence, and
  • Be currently employed in a real estate office in NSW.

 

What units will I need to complete for the Real Estate Diploma of Property?

To obtain the full Diploma the Think Real Estate course requires that you successfully complete the following units of competency:

CPPREP4507 - Provide property sustainability information in real estate

How long will the Diploma course take to complete?

The Diploma of Property qualification consists of 12 Units of competency. Depending on your present knowledge and experience the course could take between 3 and 12 months. This period will vary depend on the amount of time you set aside to undertake the course.

Will you recognise my current experience?

If you have worked as a manager or in a managerial position in a real estate office you may be eligible for Recognition of prior Learning (RPL) for some or all of the units of competency.

You will be required to upload evidence to support your experience to the Learning Management System. Following this a phone appointment with an Assessor will be conducted and you will be advised what units of the course you will need to complete and what units you have achieved competency for.

NSW Real Estate Licence Course Assessment

Regardless of your chosen method of study you will need to complete the required activities and assessments.

 

Our assessments are designed to substantiate your ability to apply acquired skill and knowledge to the workplace and may include a combination of the following:

 

Short answer and extended questions * Research activities * Role plays * Projects and case studies

 

Upon successful completion, your Statement of Attainment will be sent to you within 30 days of the program completion and this is the evidence you will need to provide to your new employer to show you have met the educational requirements.

 

Note

NSW Fair Trading issue all Real Estate Certificates of Registration and Real Estate Licences. Application forms can be downloaded from their website. Participants should note that even though they have met the educational requirements, that they must meet other requirements of NSW Fair Trading as to residency and character before a Real Estate Certificate or Real Estate Licenses are issued.
