RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
Do you hold a Current Certificate of Registration and have 3 years or more work experience in a Real Estate Office?
If the answer is "YES" to the above question you may already have all the necessary competencies that THINK REAL ESTATE can recognise. This acknowledgement is referred to as Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Recognition of Current Competency (RCC)
THINK REAL ESTATE offers all enrolling students the facility of RPL and RCC as an integral part of its training and assessment strategy.
Essentially, RPL/RCC is formal acknowledgement of your competencies regardless of how, when or where the learning occurred. This avoids duplication of training and maximises the end results of your learning and experience.
The outcome of our RPL/RCC process can be a full qualification, or a statement of attainment for partial completion of a qualification. The standards of assessment are the same for those used in our training and assessment procedures, but the assessment process may be different.
Every effort is made to keep our RPL/RCC process as simple as possible to minimise the time taken and the cost to applicants. However, the process must provide essential information of your knowledge and competencies to enable the assessor to make the correct decision. The evidence you provide to support your RPL/RCC application must be authentic (originals or verified copies), current and sufficient.
If you apply for RPL/RCC, the following procedures will apply:
- Speak with a THINK REAL ESTATE assessor to discuss your situation and proposed application.
- You will need to fill in an "Application Form" and attach any transcripts that you may have, that may help you in getting RPL's and RCC's. A quote is then given.
- An assessor will arrange to meet with you to conduct your workplace assessment to determine which modules you will be exempt from and which you will need to compete under assessment. (This may take anywhere between 1 to 2 hours of your time and will cost you a $200.00 upfront fee - this fee is not refundable if you decide not to go ahead with the course). If you cannot provide the information required for RPL or RCC your assessor will explain the training and assessment options available to you. Options may include a demonstration of your competent and /or an assessment.
- Once your workplace assessment is over and you have provided the assessor the evidence they require, you are then given an "Assessment Plan" to complete your course along with a final figure as to how much your course will cost. If you decide to go ahead with the course your $200.00 upfront fee will be taken off the balance of the course fee remaining.
- If completing via Distance Learning subjects will then start to be emailed to you to get the ball rolling. If you wish to book into any of the in-room workshops, additional fees may apply.
- Once all evidence is gathered, all modules are completed and you have been deemed competent, you will be issued with certificate from THINK REAL ESTATE which is your evidence you will need to apply for your Real Estate License with the Office of Fair Trading.
- Police checks are made and a fee is to be paid to the Office of Fair Trading on application.
- Once application is accepted from the Office of Fair Trading your Real Estate License will then be sent to you. This could take up 30 business days.
